After an exceptional journey spanning over 35 years, Ajay Gaya retired from HealthActiv last December 2024.
Ajay embarked on his journey with our company in March 1988 as a Retail Pharmacist at Medical Trading Chaussée Pharmacy, now known as MedActiv Chaussée. From those early days, his dedication, expertise and leadership shone brightly, setting a standard of excellence for all those who worked alongside him. Over the years, Ajay has held a variety of roles, each time embracing new challenges with unwavering commitment.
From his initial role as Retail Pharmacist and subsequent position as Retail Manager at MedActiv, to his pivotal roles as Logistics Manager, Senior Manager (Wholesale Division), Head of Support Services and finally, Head of Operations at HealthActiv, Ajay’s contributions have been instrumental in propelling our organisation to unprecedented heights. Among his myriad professional accomplishments, two milestones particularly stand out: leading the Wholesale Division to achieve a historic turnover of Rs 1 billion in 2017-2018, and working with an utterly engaged team on the implementation of our new state-of-the-art warehouse, inaugurated in December 2023.
Throughout his career, Ajay has continually demonstrated an impressive ability to adapt and excel in various roles, showcasing a rare blend of strategic vision and hands-on execution. His in-depth knowledge of the industry, combined with his ability to foresee and navigate challenges, has always enabled HealthActiv to achieve significant breakthrough. Ajay's tenure has not just been about achieving targets; it's also been about fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Ajay has been a mentor and a source of wisdom for many of us. His kindness and humility have left an inedible mark, serving as a great example. Ajay’s approachable nature and willingness to share his knowledge have nurtured a generation of professionals who carry his legacy of excellence beyond the confines of our offices, and whose integrity has been reflected in his interactions with our different stakeholders.
Ajay’s efforts have played a pivotal role in establishing HealthActiv’s reputation as a leader in the healthcare industry, built on the pillars of trust and quality service. His influence will undoubtedly continue to resonate within our walls and beyond.
As he steps into this new exciting phase of life, he shares some wise words to the fellow members of HealthActiv Cluster family:
“To my colleagues, especially those at the start of their career, I offer this advice: Cultivate perseverance, search for the value in feedback or criticism, embrace change and never stop learning. Every challenge is an opportunity to grow, and every relationship is a chance to make a lasting impact”.
As we bid farewell to our dear colleague who embarks on this new chapter of his life, we reflect on the innumerable ways he has shaped our organisation and the individuals within it.
