MTIL was honoured to be represented by two of its Medical Delegates, Rojotiana Randrianrisoa and Hanitrinisoa Razaoarimanana, at the Annual Congress of COMAGO (College Malgache des Gynecologues Obstetriciens) held on 18th and 19th November 2021 in Toamasina, Madagascar.
The COMAGO aims to promote obstetrics gynaecology and to contribute to the improvement of the health of the Malagasy population and that of the mother and her child. This year, the theme chosen for the congress was related to the ‘novelties applicable to Madagascar in obstetric gynaecology in 2021’.
In fact, maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality remain very high in Madagascar. The poor follow-up and the ignorance of the different pathologies during pregnancy and their care would be at the origin of the increase in this morbidity and mortality. Therefore, research results and new recommendations on epidemiological data and on gynaecological and obstetric pathologies were presented to the audience which comprised 80 healthcare professionals from 6 provinces of Madagascar.
We wish the COMAGO and its members prosperity in achieving its activities.
